Snacks & Candy, honestly
What's the cheapest snacks & candy per oz we've recorded?
Amazon Saver, Dunking Oatmeal Cookies, 12 ounce at $0.11 per oz (Single, recorded price checked 5 mo ago). Prices move — every item links out to Amazon to check today's price.
Is it cheaper to buy snacks & candy on Amazon or at the store?
For 6 of the 14 snacks & candy items we track, the Amazon cart beat the store shelf once the trip is charged in — the drive and your time add about $14.45 to every store run before you buy anything. For the rest we either found the store winning (and we say so) or don't have shelf data yet.
How do you calculate these prices?
Every price is a recorded price from a real order or a periodic re-check, stamped with when we captured it — nothing here is scraped live. The store side of every comparison also carries the trip: 11 miles round trip at 26 mpg plus 52 minutes of your time. You can change every assumption on the trip cost calculator.
