About

We got tired of paying more for less.

Same brands. Smaller boxes. Higher prices. Every month, the same trip, more money, less stuff. We started keeping receipts. The store wasn’t telling us the whole bill — gas, time, the “while-we're-here” impulse buys.

So we built this. One household ledger, recorded prices, real $/unit, real math on what each trip actually costs us. It works. You should try it too.

Three kids, two parents, one cat (an asshole). Anything else we’d add wouldn’t be true.

Where the numbers come from

Every product on this site started as a real order in our own history— the seed data is literally our Amazon order export. Prices are recorded from those orders and periodic re-checks, and every figure on every page carries the date we captured it. Nothing here is a live quote; the deal pages link out to Amazon so you can check today’s price before buying.

The store side of every receipt carries the trip: the round-trip drive and your time, at deliberately conservative rates. The complete formula, every assumption, and the sliders to change them live on the trip cost calculator. When the store wins a comparison, we say so — the ledger keeps our losses on the books too.

How the money works

Amazon affiliate links, and that’s it. When you buy through a link here we earn about 4%; it costs you nothing extra. There are no ads, no sponsored posts, no paid placements, and no “best of” lists juiced by whoever paid for the slot. Items earn their spot on this site by one metric — the math. The whole policy is on the disclosure page.
